Sugar Rush Body Scrubs

I love all natural products for my skin, with no harmful chemicals.  I started making organic sugar scrubs to help with acne, cellulite, strech marks, and so many other skin problems. I love the feel of natural things on my skin.

I have been a Hairstylist for over 30 years, and know a lot about the hair and skin. I have done many Pedicures and loved to use sugar scrubs.

 

Why exfoliate? The skin is constantly generating new skin cells at the lower layer(the dermis) and sending them to the surface (the epidermis). As the cells rise to the surface they gradually die and become filled with keratin. These keratinized skin cells are essential because they give our skin its protective quality. But they are constantly sloughing off to make way for younger cells.

As we age the process of cell turnover slows down. Cells start to pile up unevenly on the skin's surface, giving it a dry, rough, dull appearance. Exfoliation is beneficial because it removes thosecells that are clinging on, revealing the fresher, younger skin cells below

 

 

 

Coffee is rich in antioxidants, making it an awesome anti-inflammatory ingredient. It contains caffeine, which draws out excess moisture from your skin, causing it to look and feel smoother and firmer. In this scrub, coffee acts as a mild exfoliant, removing dead skin cells and exposing fresh, soft skin.

 

Coconut oilis one of our favorite natural beauty ingredients over here. It’s incredibly moisturizing and filled with vitamins and minerals, which it locks securely into your skin.

 

Cinnamon helps to clear your skin of any bacteria. It also brings blood to the surface of the skin, helping to smooth out any lines that may be present

 

 

Our skin is the largest organ in our body. It absorbs 60% – 80% of what it comes in contact with. When you use commercial cosmetic products, lotions, perfume, oils and scrubs, all of the ingredients in those products absorb right into your blood stream. The ingredients in these products can be toxic and are even known to attribute to allergies, cancer and birth defects.

 

That is why I love to make my own beauty products. I know exactly what I am applying to my skin. The ingredients I use are natural ingredients that I have in my kitchen! I also love the fact that my kids get to grow up free of the toxic overload from the body products we use in our home.

 

 The coffee scrub was known to help reduce cellulite. I found that the coffee scrub really helped to firm and smooth my skin.

I know that it is the caffeine in the scrub that supposedly helps reduce cellulite.  I do not claim that this scrub will reduce cellulite (though that would be an added bonus) but I will tell you that coffee and coconut oil are rich in antioxidants, which are very beneficial for the skin.

This coffee body scrub also smells amazing! I am a die-hard coffee lover, so I am in heaven when I use it!
